Jewels from my beau of 5 years

This 4th of July not only marked the independence of our country.. It was also Brian and my FIFTH YEAR anniversary! Where does the time go? Here is a snapshot of the amazingly girly Betsey Johnson ring that came in the mail for me the other day. Thanks Babe!

Here is a long-kinda boring video of our wind-down that night. Mila was up way past her bedtime but the big firework bangs outside were keeping her awake.

We spent the 4th on adventure. A mini road trip to Ocean shores where we played on the windy beach, made me into a sandy mermaid, ate taffy, drank frappes, and did Applebees happy hour late into the night. The following day we spent 5 hours in the heat of the day splashing around in kiddy pools at Wild Waves. We are currently both nursing our lobster backs. All in all, FABULOUS weekend :D

New-ish creations

Mila's current obsession is with Hello Kitty. I spent hours online pricing and fantasy shopping for toys and clothes for her when it dawned on me... Its a flippen cat face. Round white circle, two ears, button eyes, yellow nose, red bow. HOW SIMPLE! So I went to my fabric scraps and found some items which I already had to create the following:

I think it turned out well considering I didn't have to buy anything for the project. Below I have pictures of Mila being the "oooh so squirmy" model that she is. Not the best shots, I know, but I think you get the gist of it.

Here I have a toddler poodle skirt that I made on the same day. We will be leaving for NY in 5 days! During that time we will also be hosting/ attending my fabulous grammy's 80th- 50's themed birthday party. This will be part of Mila's outfit for the night. I however, will be wearing a Betty Paige sailor dress- pictures of the party to follow.
